The time for rumors and speculation is over. E3 is finally here and with it, some new announcements. First up Nintendo. Yesterday some in game footage of Ryu and Roy spread like wild fire on the web. Today, Masahiro Sakurai had a special presentation for Super Smash Bros. in which the rumors were confirmed. But better yet, it was announced that even more content is available for both Wii U and 3DS, right now!
Here’s the whole list of additions below and the Ryu introduction video above:
- Lucas (new fighter)
- Roy (new fighter)
- Ryu (new fighter & stage)
- Mii Fighter Costumes
- Isabelle (Animal Crossing)
- Heihachi (Tekken)
- Akira and Jacky (Virtua Fighter)
- Inkling Girl and Boy + Splatoon Hat(Splatoon)
- ZERO (Mega Man X)
- MegaMan.EXE (Mega Man Battle Network)
- Dreamland Stage ( based on N64 version)
- Miiverse Stage (free for Wii U owners)
- A pack of all of the above
That’s a fistful of items that you can purchase right now. Boom! Definitely worth the purchase for fans of the brawler. Here are some additional videos to drool over:
This will surely bring new life to the extremely popular mash-up. That’s not all either, as the following 7 amiibos will be available this September: R.O.B., Duck Hunt, Mr. Game & Watch, Falco, Mii brawler, Mii Sword Fighter, and Mii Gunner. Nintendo also mentioned that all 51 fighters from both platforms will eventually have their own amiibo. You know, just in case trying to collect the ones out now hasn’t made you bankrupt already. If you want to collect all 51 and were lucky enough to purchase them at the retail price of $12.99, it would cost you about $663.
Nintendo has done a great job at getting the festivities started. You might want to wait on attempting to download all the content right now, because the servers are having a hard time keeping up with the incoming traffic. I would say that’s a good sign for the Big N. Are you planning on jumping on board with all these additions?
