Chalk this one up as a capital R-rumor, but the circumstantial evidence is strong. We already know actor Scoot McNairy (Argo, Halt and Catch Fire) joined the cast of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice back in June in what is said to be an “undisclosed role.” Well, this week pictures of McNairy on set in Detroit have turned up, and it’s pretty clear that his legs and feet are covered in green (as in green screen green) to either digitally replace or remove his legs in post production. Or maybe they’re there to make his legs look like they are moving really, really fast?
Green screen leg coverings don’t necessarily mean that Scoot McNairy has to be the Flash. Maybe he’s playing someone with robot legs, like Superman baddie Metallo? He really doesn’t look like Metallo though, who is traditionally portrayed in the comics as a big bruiser type of dude, even before he became an evil cyborg. Or perhaps McNairy’s portraying a character who is an amputee, and that’s what the green stuff is for. Generally, though, McNairy’s look is more Barry Allen than anything else, despite not having blonde hair. (TV’s new Flash Grant Gustin doesn’t either, before anyone cites hair color as a reason why Scoot McNairy simply can’t be Barry Allen).
If the Flash is in Batman v Superman, that means six of the seven New 52 Justice League members are confirmed for this movie: Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Cyborg (Ray Fischer) and Aquaman (Jason Mamoa). That just leaves Green Lantern, but according to BadAss Digest, Green Lantern isn’t set to show up until a proper Justice League movie — probably because Warner Brothers hasn’t figured out which Green Lantern to use yet. They do mention that their sources say the Flash is indeed in the movie, to add a little fuel to the fire.
Check out the photos of Scoot hanging out on the set in silly green socks in the photo below. Do you think he’s the Scarlet Speedster, or someone else? Let us know in the comments section.
With reports now confirming The Flash in ‘BATMAN V SUPERMAN’ it’s as likely as ever that Scoot McNairy is The Flash. pic.twitter.com/h4RaIIqbyS

it dosnt matter his scene will probably be cut from the movie
In one word? Metallo.
red tonado?
Are people stupid??? Greening out just his calves and ankles would have NOTHING to do with The Flashes super speed. The effect would not work.
Nope but it could probably mean that his legs and feet are burning or hurt from running super fast 🙂
I too have been a supporter of this film and am really hoping for the best. So far my major complaint is that they’re not tying in the Arrow or Flash shows in with this movie universe, which is a shame. It feels like they’re just doing it to make a point that they’re not like Marvel when no one would have thought that. They’re throwing away great potential and a huge built-in audience.
In my opinion those tv shows in particular are incompatible with the cinematic universe they are trying to build up. Arrow characters to me feel like they have a lot of flaws writing-wise(having sudden unexplained changes of heart for example) and it’s probably because of the tv format needs. Stay low budget, minor plot should start and end in one same episode, be mainstream and what not.
I think it’s for the best to have a TV Flash and a movie Flash and Scoot McNairy is one hell of an actor btw.
I have to agree with Don. While I enjoy both arrow and the 1 flash episode I have seen. Arrow at the very least is a bit teen drama and has taken some liberties with characters. Combining the two would hold the movie franchise hostage to the writing of a 24 episodes a year show. This works for Marvel because they go over all the content for AoS and try to keep it separate and tell the writers what to stay away from for the sake of the movie universe.
I so badly want this movie to be good. I actually have been pro Affleck from the start. I like the idea of getting that older Batman story in there also.
But the more they announce the less and less likely it seems like it will be. I didn’t feel Amazing Spider-Man 2 had too many characters despite it’s other flaws, but this one seems impossible.
Oh man how I hope I am wrong, please DC make me look like a doubting ass, please…
