And Now, a Rube Goldberg Machine Made From Fidget Spinners

Fidget spinners! Right? No? Yeah, we kind of agree. Because while last year’s unlikely toy fad was sort of fun while it lasted, it wasn’t really good at doing the one thing it was designed for: helping us stay focus. But someone has finally found a way to turn those little contraptions into something that actually holds our attention—by using them to make a great rube goldberg machine.

YouTube user Kaplamino purchased 50 fidget spinners and then used pencils, wood blocks, and marbles to create this machine, which links together ten different tricks to perform one task. While this might seem simple compared to some other rube goldbergs, what makes this particularly compelling is the way many of the marbles drop down only to then activate the same fidget spinner it just fell from. So what’s the job this  machine is accomplishing? We’d rather not spoil it.

M. Night Shyamalan fidget spinner twist ending! Although, considering how great this setup worked maybe we shouldn’t be so eager to bid them adieu. Especially because they have proven to be a lot of fun if you do just about anything else with them other than use them for what they were meant for, like turning them into a working costume, destroying a phone with one, or using them to show how great space is.

You know what? We take it back. Fidget spinners!
