Rooster Teeth Previews Their Crowdfunded Sci-Fi Action Comedy, LAZER TEAM

When the aliens invade—and let’s face it, it’s only a matter of time—I’d like to think that our world will send only the best, strongest, and most intelligent to save us humans from total extinction. But, unfortunately, when you get right down to it, that notion is probably just wishful thinking. And that very realistic premise is the basis for Rooster Teeth’s feature film extravaganza, the sci-fi action comedy Lazer Team.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, Rooster Teeth is a pioneering studio responsible for some of the biggest web series out there—included among their releases is the award-winning Red vs. Blue, the longest running web series in history. Now, a result of their record-breaking crowdfunding campaign, comes Lazer Team: the story of four small-town losers (their words!) who stumble across a battle suit of otherworldly technology designed for just one chosen warrior who can save Earth from an impending alien attack.

We sat down with the team behind Lazer Team at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas and got to the bottom of their historic crowdfunding campaign and the behind-the-scenes process of making a real science fiction comedy with fancy special effects. Enjoy our interview with the cast and don’t miss the movie that has just become the #1 Cinema On-Demand release with pre-ticket sales already hitting $1 Million! That’s a lot of teeth, y’all.
