ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY Images Offer New Look at Characters and Planets

It’s Election Day, America! Today, we all have the opportunity to decide what country we want to live in, so put whatever you’re doing on hold and go out and vote! Then when you’re done, come back here and reward yourself for exercising your Constitutional freedom with today’s Movie Morsels. We’ve got a gorgeous new poster and photo from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, a new clip and featurette from Disney’s Moana, the latest news on Jurassic World 2, and plenty more for you patriots!

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

The very first Star Wars spinoff film is looking finer with each passing day! In fact, everything I’ve heard about it leads me to believe this thing has even more potential than last year’s The Force Awakens, freed as it is of that movie’s weight of expectation and the burden of jumpstarting an entire megafranchise. The latest Rogue One poster is about as gorgeous as any photoshopped one-sheet can be in 2016, and features a new look at the fabled planet Yavin, as well as the film’s hardscrabble band of heroes…

Not to be outdone, the leader of the Rebellion herself, Mon Mothma, nabs her own new photo. Mon Mothma is played once more by Genevieve O’Reilly, who first portrayed the stalwart senator in Revenge of the Sith

Moana

Oh, Moana, just take my money already! Disney’s first Polynesian princess will arrive in theaters in just a couple of weeks, so the Mouse House is driving us into a foaming frenzy of excitement with all manner of new clips and featurettes. Today’s bounty includes a look at a musical sequence from the film, featuring Hamilton composer Lin-Manuel Miranda’s uplifting tune “We Know the Way.” It’s a lovely ode to the heroine and her people’s legacy of exploration…

And if that’s not enough for you, here’s a new behind-the-scenes look at the film and how it came to be, fittingly titled “The Way to Moana”…

Logan

He’s the best there is at what he does, and sometimes he likes to do it in black and white! Yes, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine is again the subject of the latest Instagram photo from Logan, the Aussie actor’s final go-’round in the role that made him a superstar. Your guess is as good as mine as to what’s going on in this scene. Something to do with sneaking into the home of his enemy, perhaps? It’s almost a shame Wolvie’s not the villain of the film, because he looks like a genuine horror movie killer in this atmospheric shot…

Jurassic World 2

Toby-Jones-Sherlock

The dino-sized sequel to last year’s blockbuster hit Jurassic World is well underway, with two new names added to the cast yesterday. Toby Jones (pictured above in Captain America: The First Avenger) has a face well known to fans of Marvel movies, Doctor Who, or Sherlock, while Rafe Spall appeared in The B.F.G. and Netflix’s Black Mirror. No word yet on who they’ll play, but both actors will join returning stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. And probably get eaten by dinosaurs.

Beautiful Things

Margot Robbie

Finally today, Margot Robbie (pictured above in The Wolf of Wall Street) is piling projects on her plate faster than I can shovel salad onto mine at a Sizzler. The once and future Harley Quinn is following her success in this summer’s The Legend of Tarzan and Suicide Squad with roles in a Harley solo film, a Peter Rabbit movie, an untitled biopic about Winnie the Pooh creator A.A. Milne, and the thriller Terminal. Now, we hear she’s added yet another movie to her slate: Beautiful Things. Based on the upcoming novel by Gin Phillips, it’s about a mom and her son trapped in a zoo while a crazed gunman runs rampant. Robbie will produce as well as star. Go, Margot, go!
