The San Diego County Fair is happening right now and theyâre featuring an art exhibit that shows a series of food photos. Nothing out of the ordinary there; fairs and food are synonymous. The whole reason to go to a county fair is to gorge yourself on corn dogs, cotton candy, deep fried this and that, but what about the perennial family favorite: rocks?
Over at Weird Universe, they run down the photo exhibit that otherwise doesnât seem out of the ordinary. From afar everything looks edible, bright green peas with pearl onions, baked potatoes and sliced roast, all look deceivingly succulent and delicious. Despite the mouth-watering visuals, take one bite out of any of those and you could lose a tooth, or several.
This visual feast is straight out of The Flintstones. One of the serene photos show a picnic table, where rocks are layered to look like slices of cheese with sizzling granite burgers on the grill. Even the drinks arenât safe from a geological makeover, as even the soda is made of rock. The dining table photos are similar, silverware and crystal all elaborately set up plates of rice rubble and veggie pebbles. Iâm not sure of the nutritive value of rocks but I guarantee you the meal is non-fat.
Anyone know any jokes about sodium deposits? Na.
Check out all the rock food in the gallery. What rock-like food would you cook up? Let us know in the comments.
