RockLove’s New OUTLANDER Brooch is Perfect for All Sassenachs

🎶  Sing me a song of a pin that is bold / Say, could that pin be mine? 🎶
When you’re a fan of something as epic, sweeping, and visual as Diana Gabaldon‘s Outlander novels—and the series that it inspired—coveting objects from the story is a big part of the fandom. After all, each token, talisman, or beautiful brooch keeps the characters close at all times (in addition to being a fun way to incorporate casual cosplay into your clothes). Which is exactly why we’re losing our ever-loving gourds over RockLove’s latest Outlander-inspired creation, the Fraser Brooch.

Fraser Stag Brooch Horizontal (1)

Using Gabaldon’s own words from the 36th chapter of the first book as her inspiration, the replica of the Fraser Brooch from the novels is a beautifully intricate, delicate-yet-formidable piece of jewelry–the perfect accessory for all of Claire Randall/Fraser’s amazing shawls.

A bearskin cloak, to be exact, fastened at the neck with a silver-gilt brooch as large as the palm of my hand. It was made in the shape of two leaping stags, backs arched and heads meeting to form a circle. The locking pin was a short, tapered fan, the head of it shaped like the tail of a fleeing deer.

According to RockLove designer Allison Hourcade, “I’ve always dreamed of translating the Fraser Stag Brooch in the historical pen-annular style for knits, shawls, cloaks, and kilts!”

The brooch is hand-crafted in solid sterling silver, and is over one and a half inches in diameter. Consisting of two Celtic knots with stags bound within their border, antlers and limbs are intricately entwined into the setting. The white-tail stick pin encircles and slides along the narrower top of the brooch, so that it remains secure.

It’s one of several Outlander-inspired items RockLove has for sale (which you can see here), and we’re excited to announce that the Fraser Brooch is available starting today (yes, as in right MEOW) on their official site.

Check out a few other images of the brooch in the gallery below, and let us know your thoughts in the comments (bonus points for pictures of your Claire Fraser cosplays)!
