While many trace the origins of Santa Claus back to the Dutch figure of Sinterklaas, a white-bearded man who himself has his roots in pre-Christian Europe, there are strong cases to be made for Santa dating all the way back to some of the earliest human cultures. The strongest piece of evidence supporting this holly jolly claim is this searing footage captured by Robot Chicken of Santa Claus trying to bring presents to what we colloquially refer to as cavemen. However, our Neanderthal ancestors weren’t quite as excited to see ol’ Saint Nick skulking about their earthen domicile, which is why it is our twelfth and final Slay of Christmas.
