RiffTrax Squeezing Breath from ANACONDA October 30th

There truly is nothing quite like seeing a movie lovingly skewered by people who know what they’re doing. Going to a cinema and being forced to listen to other patrons making fun of the film in their belief that they’re hilarious and everyone wants to hear them is akin to being forced to listen to children try to do sports play by play. But, listening to professional comedy people sling jokes at a screen full of bad movie — that’s something to treasure. And if that experience can be beamed into movie theaters across the country, then that’s a win everybody can enjoy. What am I setting up in many sentences? Why the return of RiffTrax Live, of course!

Tomorrow night, October 30th, 2014, in movie theaters across this fine land of ours (being the United States…sorry, everyone else), you can watch Michael J. Nelson, Kevin Murphy, and Bill Corbett (the stars of Mystery Science Theater 3000 don’tya know) unleash their trademark sarcasm and pointed barbs on that behemoth of cinematic schlock, 1995’s Anaconda starring Jennifer Lopez (before she was J-Lo), Jon Voight, and Ice Cube.

Anaconda is the stretch goal prize from their most recent (and highly successful) Kickstarter campaign which was initially meant to raise money to riff 1998’s Godzilla, which they did back in August. But they got enough donations to get a whole other movie, which is what this is. You’re getting two RiffTrax Lives in one year people! That’s the power of the fan community.

Like their previous outings, this screening is presented through Fathom Events. Tickets, locations, and exact starting times are all listed and available on the Fathom Events website. And if you can’t make tomorrow’s screening, there will be an encore screening (not live, but presented as live) on November 4th, which is this coming Tuesday.

Go out, laugh at people getting eaten by a cruddy CGI snake, and enjoy the community of people who love the same.
