Breaking news: Flash fever is spreading! We recently reported that Warner Brothers will present the pilot episode of the CW’s upcoming adaptation of the long-running (sorry) DC comic book The Flash, before an eager crowd at Comic-Con on Wednesday, July 23rd in Hall H. We’ll be at the event and bringing you all the news you can handle. But right now we’ve got a brand-new behind-the-scenes featurette to further whet your appetite, and it’s got all the people we want to hear from — writer/executive producer/showrunner Andrew Kreisberg, executive producer Greg Berlanti, writer Geoff Johns, costume designer Colleen Atwood, and star Grant Gustin. You can watch it below.
After Warner Brothers’ first attempt at a live-action Flash TV show failed after one memorable but brief season back in 1990, I would have told you that our odds of getting another Flash series were like those of catching lightning in a bottle (sorry again — this show makes it so easy). But now? Even the name of the new Flash‘s lead actor is perfect: Grant Gustin — it’s alliterative, like a proper superhero name should be! And with the above-mentioned folks involved and director David Nutter helming the pilot and establishing the show’s look and aesthetic — as he did for the CW’s fantastic Arrow — this series has “can’t miss” written all over it’s scarlet-swathed face.
The Flash premieres Tuesday, Oct 7 at 8/7c on The CW.
