Well, she does know how to get away with murder. According to reports, Viola Davis has been tapped to play Amanda Waller in Warner Bros.’ upcoming adaptation of DC Comics’ Suicide Squad.

The report, which was published by Latino-Review, reveals the How to Get Away with Murder star is a shoe-in for the role of Waller, the no-nonsense government official tasked with running the Suicide Squad, a black ops unit of supervillains impressed into government servitude. “The key here,” they said, “is that he role is hers provided that the filmmakers can work out her TV schedule, which will be no small feat considering how big of a hit How To Get Away With Murder is.” Luckily for the production, if true, HTGAWM is a limited-run series that doesn’t make full 22-episode seasons, so Davis should have some time in her schedule if that’s the only hurdle.

This casting news comes just weeks after it was confirmed by Warner Bros. the new film would star Jared Leto as the Joker, Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Tom Hardy as Rick Flag, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, and Cara Delevingne as Enchantress. In addition, many reports were swirling Oprah Winfrey and Octavia Spencer were both being considered for the Waller role, but let’s be honest, when you can get Viola Davis, you get Viola Davis.
