Report: GAME OF THRONES Swordsman Joins STAR WARS: EPISODE VII Cast

Could Miltos Yerolemou become the next Ray Park? According to the BBC, the Game of Thrones actor has landed a role in Star Wars: Episode VII – and there’s no way it doesn’t involve him flipping this way and that with a lightsaber.

While the article suggests that Yerolemou’s role won’t be a major one, it could still prove to be a nice opportunity for the man who played the guy to who taught Arya Stark how to handle a sword to show his chops off to an even larger audience.

In case you’ve forgotten, Yerolemou played Syrio Forel in the first season of Game of Thrones, before getting a badass sendoff while fighting a group of Lannister goons. The lesson there: size doesn’t matter as long as you’ve got a little style and a sweet speech to rattle the haters.

Landing the part would give Episode VII two Game of Thrones veterans: earlier this year, Gwendolyn Christie was cast as one of the lead roles in the film.

Anyway, Sith or Jedi, small role or large, Yerolemou’s got the acting chops to do whatever director J.J. Abrams asks of him: if his largely light but tough role in Game of Thrones wasn’t proof enough, the actor has worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company and has been filming the BBC drama Wolf Hall, an adaptation of the historical novel featuring the real-life Game of Thrones-esque trials and travails of royal adviser Thomas Cromwell.

Star Wars: Episode VII will be in theaters in December 2015.
