Rejoice! A RICK AND MORTY Season Two Trailer Has Arrived!

♫It’s been♬ entirely too long since we last left mad scientist/antihero Rick Sanchez and his willing but usually unwitting sidekick/grandson Morty Smith and we’ve felt a distinct lack of improvisational dialogue, comedic gore, and out-there sci-fi ideas. And there’s only so many times we can rewatch the first season of Rick and Morty. (We’re kidding, of course; there’s NEVER too many times we can rewatch the first season of Rick and Morty.) But, we do want some more, and luckily, we’re only a few weeks away from that exact thing happening.

From the looks of the above trailer for the long-awaited second season of Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon’s brilliant animated series, Rick hasn’t lightened up at all. We all know he’s into some shady dealings, but he’s also apparently an intergalactic gunrunner, selling weapons to an assassin named Krombopulos Micheal (voiced by Andy Daly), built a massive, energy-sucking bunker underneath his daughter’s garage, and blows up pretty much a fifth of all the aliens he meets. He’s the Gazorpazorpfield of grandpas…he don’t give a f**k. The Oingo-Boingo song “Weird Science” is an apt choice for the trailer’s soundtrack.

The whole main cast is back, and it appears they’re just as put off/welcoming of Rick’s behavior as before. Daughter Beth (Sarah Chalke) is still trying to make her marriage and life work; son-in-law Jerry (Chris Parnell) is still aggravated by every single thing Rick does and doesn’t understand any of it; granddaughter Summer (Spencer Grammer) is still trying to usurp Morty’s position as Rick’s sidekick.

No show mixes family squabbles with end-of-the-world plotlines as well as Rick and Morty and we’re beyond stoked to get to see where the portal gun takes us next.

The new season of Rick and Morty premieres Sunday, July 26th, at 11:30pm, only on Adult Swim.
