Reenact RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK with This Epic Face-Melting Toht Candle

Once in a while, you come across products so perfect that you marvel at how they didn’t previously exist. An example? This melting Major Toht candle. It re-creates a memorable scene from the first Indiana Jones movie, Raiders of the Lost Ark. In just a few moments, Toht went from being excited about the power of the Ark to being melted into a puddle of goo. His face literally drips off his skull, and it’s one of the coolest special effects deaths in all of film.

So gross and yet oh so satisfying.

The candle captures the moment without the screams (you can add them if you want), and in this case, the burn is much slower. That makes it less grotesque and more enjoyable. The sculpt doesn’t skimp on the details either. The wax Toht looks a lot like actor Ronald Lacey; the candle has his fedora, his glasses, his black leather jacket, and his horrified expression. It looks so good that you might not want to burn it.

Except that it looks this awesome when you do:

Maybe it’s best to purchase two of them so you can have one for display and one for burning. Candle maker Firebox doesn’t state how long it takes to melt Toht’s face off, but I’m guessing it will take several hours of burn time. If you want to add the wax replica to your decor, you can pre-order it at Firebox for $31.39. It will ship in 2015. I think it’s absolutely worth the wait.

It doesn’t  have red wax underneath? Seems like a missed opportunity

I don’t need a candle to recreate Raiders of the Lost Ark… I have Assassin’s Creed: Unity.
