REAL FAKE HISTORY Examines the Battle of Endor

History books in the Star Wars universe probably have lengthy chapters devoted to the Battle of Endor. Actually, there are probably entire tomes on the topic. The combat from Return of the Jedi was a turning point in the war against the Empire. The second Death Star was destroyed, Ewoks prevailed over Stormtroopers, and both Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader were taken care of. Basically, the Empire lost its head and several other body parts. A

new parody series from Machinima, Real Fake History, examines one key part of the skirmish: The role of the Millennium Falcon and Nien Nunb.

Real Fake History puts a History Channel/Ken Burns style spin on fights from pop culture. I’ve seen fights like the one on Endor analyzed seriously, so it’s fun to hear a lighthearted take on events. They specifically focus on the stupidity of bringing in the unintelligible Sullustan Nien Nunb to copilot the Falcon in such a pivotal moment. Jeff Lewis and Matt Knudsen play former Rebel pilots Mark Stargazer and Bill Bendix and talk about the challenges and stress they endured because of Nien Nunb. I feel the tiniest bit sorry for the Sullustan. He and Lando Calrissian did get the job done.

Future installments of Real Fake History will tackle the Battle of New York City from The Avengers, the Battle of Hong Kong from Pacific Rim, and the Battle of Castle Black from Game of Thrones, among others. Which fictional fight do you hope to see covered? Let me know in the comments.
