Rage Against the Machine is the world’s most successful rap metal band. They’ve sold over 16 million records worldwide, and inspired many other great acts to follow in their wake. But recently, RATM bassist Tim Commerford has been regretting one of them, and that’s Limp Bizkit. Commerford told Rolling Stone, “I do apologize for Limp Bizkit. I really do. I feel really bad that we inspired such bullshit.” By “bullshit,” we can assume he’s not just speaking about Limp Bizkit being a crappy band, but other loser-ish bands who came after them and may have also taken guidance from RATM. Commerford seems to be under the impression that Limp Bizkit are done with now. “They’re gone, though. That’s the beautiful thing. There’s only one left and that’s Rage. As far as I’m concerned, that’s the only one that matters.”
I hate to break it to you, Tim, but… Limp Bizkit are still performing! You don’t have to go to their concert if you don’t want to.
Over the years, Limp Bizkit have become known for their cheesy, uninspired lyrics that scream immaturity, and way too many cameo’s in their video’s. Frontman Fred Durst is frequently in the news for possessing an ego that grows with every piece of success, giving the band a not so great reputation. However, they’ve released six studio albums, been nominated for three Grammy awards, and enjoyed a massive following since their formation in 1994. So, to each their own, I say.
