Radiohead’s Manager Says New Album Will Arrive in June

After months of speculation, it’s been confirmed that the new Radiohead album will arrive in June—as Pitchfork reports.

A few hours ago, Radiohead manager Brian Message—who also manages Nick Cave—spoke to an audience at London’s Wanstead Tap. The conversation was marketed as “a rare chance to hear about two of the most enigmatic, inventive and charismatic performers in the world of modern music.” The entire event was undoubtedly compelling, but it will be remembered for just one of Message’s phrases: “the new Radiohead album out in June will be like nothing like you’ve ever heard.”

The Wanstead tweeted the quote:

The confirmation follows the band’s creation of two new entities: Dawn Chorus LLP and Dawnnchoruss Ltd—in January and February, respectively. Radiohead formed new companies before the surprise releases of both In Rainbows and The King of Limbs, as well, so we’ve all been expecting a big announcement for months.

Radiohead has also been working with Paul Thomas Anderson on a new music video—as was exposed by comedian Stefanie Wilder-Taylor, whose home was used as the video’s setting. And, of course, we’ve known about the impending tour for a few weeks now. With all these hints, the new album has not been a question of ‘if’ but ‘when’; still, it’s so nice to have confirmation.

Okay all you Radioheads, go catch up on Ok Computer and Amnesiac–you may have as little as six weeks to prepare for what will likely be one of the best releases of the year. Tour dates below:
