Psylocke’s Sword Built, Ignited, and Wielded Upon a Toy Car

With X-Men: Apocalypse now released, it seems that Wolverine no longer has the “create blades from out of nowhere at a moment’s notice” market cornered—with the addition of Psylocke (Olivia Munn) and her psionic blades, Logan has some competition. And soon enough, they won’t be the only two with this trick up their sleeves. Thanks to the Hacksmith’s latest video, you can now learn how to make your OWN psionic blade. (Well, you can learn how to make the CLOSEST thing to a psionic blade, since you probably don’t have superpowers).

Taking apart a katana blade, Hacksmith inserts an ignitor into the handle. He then drills holes in the blade itself and wraps it with rope. Once the sword is put back together, he and his cohorts create a slow-burning fuel to dip the sword in. All you have to do now is activate the ignitor, and you are all set to defeat the X-Men (or EVIL mutants, depending on which version of the character you want to emulate).

Now, while a sword on fire may look cool, it can’t quite do the same things Psylocke can do, like slice through a car. Right? WRONG…ish. By hooking up the sword to an electric current, Hacksmith was able to simulate cutting through a car just like in the film. Granted, it was a toy car, and it was done in a controlled environment. But dang if it didn’t look awesomely awesome.

So what do you think? Are you on your way to the mall (to the knife specialty store) and Home Depot to get started? Or are you afraid the first thing you’ll do is chop your own arm off? Let me know on Twitter or sound off in the comments below.
