Isn’t this photo of Prince from junior high the best picture of him you’ve ever seen? According to an old article from Minneapolis’s Star Tribune, unearthed by journalist, Libor Jany, Prince used to be a pretty decent ball handler back in his day, when he played for Bryant Junior High. But much to his chagrin, he wasn’t good enough to be a starter: “He was unhappy, and he expressed that many, many times,” his old basketball coach told the Tribune in an old article. If Chapelle’s Show interpretation of a how a scrimmage with the R&B deity were to go down, I assume that Prince’s middle school basketball team would be undefeated, scoring all their points by dunking backwards and then levitating in a feat of sexy sorcery. I am also assuming the the jerseys were purple and that the Bryant Junior High team name was .
How badly do you want to see that Space Jam reboot with The Purple One? That was a rhetorical question, but feel free to pepper the comment section with Prince praise.
