Preview: New THE WALKING DEAD Parody from The Hillywood Show!

‘Tis the season for brain-hungry undead monsters, and no one does zombies these days quite like The Walking Dead. The new season is rife with parody potential, and we’ve just caught wind that Nerdist Alliance members Hilly and Hannah Hindi are bringing their own unique spin to the show in a new video coming out this fall!

TITLE

The Hillywood Show joined the Nerdist Alliance ranks back in July, but we’ve been fans of their work for ages. If you’re unfamiliar, The Hillywood Show stars sisters Hilly and Hannah Hindi who create song and dance parodies of popular films and TV shows like The Hobbit, Harry Potter, Doctor Who, and much, much more. Each video is impeccably made, with incredible costumes, hair, and makeup that transform the sisters into characters like the Tenth Doctor and Harry Potter.

You might recall their recent parody, where the characters from Doctor Who series 2-4 do a little TARDIS Time Warp:

We can’t wait to see what the Hillywood sisters have up their sleeves with this one. Stay tuned for The Hillywood Show’s The Walking Dead parody, set to hit your computer screens this fall.

Hey guys, I’m the owner of the altered Breaking Dawn Jacket Hilly wore in the Breaking Dawn Parody. I’ve lent The Hillywood Show multiple clothing items for multiple Twilight parodies. Each time, they have been super kind and very respectful of me and my items (They even rushed a package back to me directly after filming so I could have it for an event). I personally gave Hannah permission to alter the Breaking Dawn jacket. The jacket itself fit me like a potato sack so I was glad to get it taken in for free! I’m not quite sure if there was some misunderstanding or if something got lost in translation, but the jacket was definitely not altered to the point of me not being able to wear it any more.
I sew my own costumes, and have the skill and knowledge to let something out. If it was too tight, I could easily fix it. Furthermore, had it been irreversible, I know The Hillywood Show would replace it.
I apologize for any misunderstanding there may have been, but I also simply ask for you to be a bit more respectful, for your comment also reflects back on me. Thank you so much for your understanding.

HOLY CRAP!!!! BEST NEWS EVER! Okay, I met these ladies in person at Comic Con this year, after they were on the Nerdist Cosplay panel and let me just say that they’re the most down to earth, funny and nerd-tastic ladies I’ve ever met!  I am obsessed with their work!  I love that their parodies don’t bash or make fun of the things I’m a HUGE fanboy of.  I’m tired of countless spoofs that make fun of what i love in a really distasteful/stupid way, but the Hillywood Show is different and celebrates fandoms with a funny twist!  The fact that they’re doing THE WALKING DEAD just made me freakin’ scream so loud I woke up my room mate.  This parody is guaranteed not to be rude or stupid to the TV show, but will make it even more awesome!! (if that’s possible?!)  I’m a 29 year old guy, who is acting like a fangirl now….ok I’ll stop.   Go HILLYWOOD!

  7. CyberBorg2 says:

I CAN’T WAIT!  THIS WILL BE AMAZING!!!!  WOW WOW WOW.  Day = Made.

  8. Taryn says:

They’re amazingly talented!  Cannot wait for this one!!!

  9. Anna says:

Incredible costumes my ass. FYI They take advantage of cosplayers. I wore one of the costumes I made (and many of my friends did too) in their doctor who video. They did not provide any compensation and took credit for my costume even though I MADE IT. They are shadey. What did they do with their thousands of dollars they made with fan donations? Because I paid for my own costume and made it myself

    • Astra says:

They permanently altered my friend’s jacket, which she kindly let Hilly borrow, to the point where she couldn’t wear it anymore. So I know firsthand what you’re saying. Where does their fan donation money go? It lines their wallets. And they claim to donate 10% to a children’s hospital but we’ve never heard anything about these donations.

    • Rach says:

If you watch the parody video those who were in the costumes are credited. In the credits. WOW.

    • Tanya says:

If you look at the credits in their Doctor Who Parody, they list all the performers who wore the costumes, plus they have a separate credit category just for “Costume Designers” aka Cosplayers.  Doesn’t look like they’re stealing anyones credit at all.  In fact, those are the longest YouTube credits I’ve seen in my life.  lol

    • Suz says:

You obviously knew you were a volunteer when you signed on. I’ve met these young ladies in person, and talked to Hannah on the phone a couple of times (about the video you were in and the Jack Sparrow), about them borrowing costumes I made for my girls. I’d loan them stuff any day. In future, I’d suggest you not sign onto a project “without compensation”, if you really want to be paid. Also, as for where the money went? It’s obvious you’ve never had to pay for all that goes into a production of the sort they do….you might want to do your homework, before you sign onto anything of this sort in the future.

    • A says:

I loaned their old costume designer John Henson an item way back in the day and never got it back.  I tried for two years, he insulted me and basically told me I should be lucky that he used it to begin with.  I gave up and just let him keep the item.  It was better than fighting with him over a piece that I owned to begin with.  You can tell a lot about someone by who they surround themselves with, just saying.
