Preview 3 New Legendary Comics Series from Grant Morrison, Judd Winnick & Matt Wagner

Arriving this September from Legendary Comics comes Annihilator, an original graphic novel from comic book legend Grant Morrison, who is coming off an incredible nearly eight year run on the Batman titles, as well as Action Comics for DC. Annhilator is a six issue mini-series which is an all new, mind-bending sci-fi adventure unlike anything else currently out there, and with incredible artwork from Frazer Irving (Judge Dredd, Necronauts).  According to the official synopsis, Annihilator is about “washed-up Hollywood screenwriter Ray Spass, who is caught in a downward spiral of broken relationships, wild parties and self-destruction. Out of luck and out of chances, he’s one failed script away from fading into obscurity. Little does he know he’s about to write the story of his life. As his imagination runs rampant, Ray must join forces with his own fictional character Max Nomax on a reality-bending race to stop the entire universe from imploding… without blowing his own mind in the process.” Annihilator is set to come out September 4th at comic stores everywhere.

Also coming from Legendary in September is Dragon Town, an all-new five issue mini series from writer Judd Winnick (Green Arrow, The Outsiders) and art by newcomer Geoff Shaw. On the surface, Dragon Town seems like your average all-American tourist trap, but this snow-covered town hides a burning secret. After centuries of lying buried within the depths of an icy mountain, the world’s last dragon egg finally hatches – endangering modern life as we know it. Now an unlikely group of dangerously unqualified, ordinary citizens must band together, battling the elements – and each other – to slay this menacing creature. Dragon Town arrives in comic stores September 24th.

And before those two books hit in September, in August, Legendary Comics adds another title from comic book legend Matt Wagner with The Tower Chronicles: Deadstalker. Following from last year’s first volume of The Tower Chronicles, which introduced  John Tower, a supernatural bounty hunter who tracks and destroys otherworldly evil. Matt Wagner is the creator of such classics as Mage and Grendel, and is joined again for this project by artist Simon Bisley, best known for his work on Lobo and Judge Dredd. After thwarting a demonic possession and tearing a mystic artifact away from the clutches of the Brotherhood of the Rose, Tower believes himself one step closer to his mysterious goals. But the next chapter of his journey leads him and his unofficial partner, FBI agent Alicia Hardwicke, to the frozen wilderness of Canada where they must face off against a nightmarish beast that has been feasting on the locals. Will Tower’s mission prove successful, or is he leading Alicia to an icy tomb? Deadstalker hits comic shops everywhere on August 13th.
