Everybody wants to watch Game of Thrones as soon as possible. And all at once. All ten episodes, in our faces. Right now. But, alas, we don’t get that kind of distribution, and it’s probably for the best. If we all saw the whole of season 6 right this second, what would we have to look forward to? We shouldn’t just get everything we want all at once, and HBO wouldn’t give it to us anyway.
Unless we were the President of the United States, of course. He gets to see the episodes first.
According to David Benioff and Dan Weiss, the co-showrunners of the most popular show in the nine realms, President Obama has asked specifically for advanced copies of the episodes of the show, and they complied. In an interview with Veronica Belmont during the official HBO live Facebook stream, the creators were asked what their most “ah-ha” moment was, with regard to the show’s popularity. The response was presidential.
“I think, for both of us, finding out the President wanted advanced copies of the episodes was an ‘ah-ha’ moment,†Weiss said. “That was a very strange moment.†But did they say yes? “Yes,†Weiss replied. “He’s the leader of the free world.â€
HBO has not confirmed this, but if it’s true, POTUS will be the only human outside of HBO to see the episodes early.
So, like, we get it. He makes a lot of important policy decisions, and he has to deal with the path of the nation in this horrible global economy, and he’s got college basketball to predict, but is that really a reason for him to know if Jon Snow’s alive, if Sansa and Reek get away, or what Tyrion’s facial hair will look like weeks before the rest of us? That’s not in the best interest of the American people!!! OBAMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!
