Prepare to be Filled with “Dredd”

Revenge may be a dish best served cold, but justice is best served hot and fresh out the kitchen with a side of lead. Given that everything from Mad Max to Total Recall is getting a shiny 3D reboot, it was only a matter of time until studios made the judiciously prudent decision to give Judge Dredd the remake treatment. Based on the character from British sci-fi comic 2000 A.D. (which turns 35 this year), Dredd stars New Zealand’s favorite son Karl Urban in his most badass role yet as that one-man British legal system, Judge Dredd. Still not convinced? Check out the latest trailer on the Nerdist Channel. With The Raid director Gareth Evans’ seal of approval, not being excited is starting seem like a criminal offense. And believe us when we say that judgement is coming.

@ Tyson, just saw your comment and I completely agree! Give me the better martial arts movie any day.

  2. Mandy W. says:

Am I the only one who thinks that they are ripping off The Raid: Redemption. As soon as they show the apartment building and the chick gets on the speaker and says she wants them dead, total rip off minus the awesome martial arts action. See the trailer here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PkULMOFpuCo .

  3. alberto says:

i’ll probably watch it anyway… even if the helmet looks way bug for his body

  4. Alberto says:

glad he keeps his helmet on… sad the helmet looks stupid

  5. scabfarm says:

    looks awesome! =D

  6. CJ says:

While I applaud a real adaption of JUDGE DREDD (which means the main character keeps his fucking helmet on); Lionsgate has distribution rights for North America …. & there’s still no Official Webpage available (c’mon, if you’re going to sell a movie? You better have a website, a facebook page, a viral video campaign, etc) ….

  7. Tyson says:

All I could think was a voice over guy saying:

‘Clint Eastwood is…. Judge Dredd. In the shitty American remake….The Raid Redemption: Americanized’

  8. Aj says:

Before this was…whatever the hell it is now, it could’ve been a lot cooler. If you haven’t, check out the original music that was composed for an earlier version of the film, written by Geoff Barrow (of Portishead) and Ben Salisbury
