Premiere Date Announced for STAR WARS REBELS

New Star Wars stories are headed to your television in just six weeks. Lucasfilm and Disney’s animated series Star Wars Rebels will make its television debut on Friday, October 3rd, at 9:00pm ET/PT. The hour-long premiere is actually a movie titled Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion. It will air on the Disney Channel in 163 countries around the world in 34 languages.

We’ve been getting amped up about the series since the first teaser dropped last October. Star Wars Rebels takes place in between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. The Galactic Empire is making its presence known throughout the galaxy, and it’s not all sunshine and daisies. There are brave citizens willing to step up though, and we’ll get to know five of the rebels – Hera, Kanan, Sabine, Zeb, and Ezra – as they push back against the Empire. The beginnings of the rebellion, you guys! It’s exciting.

Those of you who have Disney XD can log in at Watch Disney XD to see Spark of Rebellion a few days early on Monday, September 29th. If cable television isn’t your thing, the hour-long Rebels movie will be available for purchase on Apple iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, and Google Play beginning on October 4th.

I have a couple more important dates to throw at you, so keep your calendars open. After the hour-long premiere, the series will pick back up on Monday, October 13th at 9:00pm ET/PT. Its normal schedule will likely be Monday nights at the same time. That’s right, fresh tales in the Star Wars universe every week.

And, if you’d like to watch Spark of Rebellion over and over again with extras, a DVD of the movie will be available on Tuesday, October 14th. It includes “the movie, a free Ghost 3D model ship, four Star Wars Rebels shorts, plus a never-before-seen piece that takes you deeper into the world of Star Wars Rebels and the upcoming season.”

Who else will be tuning into the premiere? Sound off in the comments!
