THE POWERPUFF GIRLS Reveals the Voice Behind Its 4th Member

UPDATE 6/7/17: We might not know much about the backstory of the new Powerpuff Girl, we know who will be providing her voice. South African singer Toya Delazy has signed on to join the saviors of Townsville as the new (yet unnamed) team member!

This isn’t the first time Delazy has worked with the Powerpuff Girls team, as she produced and sang a South African version of the theme song for a Cartoon Network-run Powerpuff Girls art exhibit when the series first rebooted. Now it seems Delazy got a dose of Chemical X and will be joining Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup in their fight against evil! We can’t wait to see what Delazy will bring to the City of Townsville!

6/6/17: Since 1998, The Powerpuff Girls have been comprised of three sisters, Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup. Created in a lab thanks to a combination of sugar, spice, everything nice, and just a touch of Chemical X, Professor Utonium created the three–three–perfect little girls/superheroes.

Well the Professor and his super-daughters as well as the City of Townsville at large are all in for a pretty big surprise, because there is about to be (or always was, the lore is unclear) a fourth Powerpuff Girl. Cartoon Network just released this image to tease the big reveal:

So we don’t know much about this Powerpuff apart from her long locks, but we won’t have to wait long to get the skinny on the mystery sister. Cartoon Network is releasing a five-part movie event called The Powerpuff Girls: Power of Four Sunday, September 17 at 5:30 ET/PT. It’s not clear who this fourth member is, how her origin story relates to that of Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup, or if she’ll even be sticking around the City of Townsville long to help fight evil.

However, it doesn’t seem like she’ll be fighting against the girls (though you never know what nefarious, sneaky tricks the villains of Townsville are up to). Cartoon Network says this epic event kicks off when the Powerpuff Girls’ life as superheroes are turned upside down—and all four Powerpuff Girls must band together and use their strengths and smarts to save their beloved city of Townsville from forces of evil that are bigger than ever. It’s not clear what “bigger than ever” means, but I’m still holding out secret hope for a Beat-Alls reunion.

Will a fourth Powerpuff Girl add or subtract to the group dynamic? Do we even need a fourth Powerpuff Girl? Is the Professor her dad/creator as well? Who do you think the big bad is in the movie event? Tell us your thoughts and theories in the comments!
