While everyone and their mother is eagerly awaiting news about Lionsgsate’s forthcoming feature film reboot of Saban’s Power Rangers, devoted fans of the super sentai superteam flocked to the Convention Center in Pasadena, CA to celebrate all aspects of Power Rangers at Power Morphicon. As you likely already know, Power Rangers has been airing steadily on U.S. television since Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers made its auspicious debut back in 1993, and has built up a fan base of all ages since then. During a Power Morphicon panel hosted by yours truly, Saban Brands gave many of those excited fans a sneak peek at the twenty-third and twenty-fourth seasons of Power Rangers, with exclusive sneak peeks at Power Rangers Dino Super Charge (including a blooper reel) and a first look at the cast of Power Rangers Ninja Steel.
Currently, Power Rangers’ twenty-third season, Dino Super Charge, is airing on Nickelodeon. New episodes return to the network beginning on August 20, and they are bringing new Zords and new allies along with them (including the Silver Ranger) as teased in this new trailer.
In addition to a sneak peek of upcoming Dino Super Charge episodes, fans were treated to a delightfully silly blooper reel, which showed that being a Power Ranger isn’t always easy.
But Saban Brands was ready to give fans a taste of the future of Power Rangers with a tease of the franchise’s twenty-fourth season. The next season of Power Rangers will be entitled Power Rangers Ninja Steel, based on the Shuriken Sentai Ninninger series. As you may have inferred from the title, this season of spandex-clad, Zord-filled action will have a strong ninja influence. At the end of the panel, fans got a first look at the show’s cast.
- Will Shewfelt as Brody, the Red Ranger
- Chrysti Ane Lopes as Sarah, the Pink Ranger
- Chantz Simpson as Calvin, the Yellow RAnger
- Zoe Robins as Hayley, the White Ranger
- Peter Sudarso as Preston, the Blue Ranger
Fun fact about Peter Sudarso–he is actually the younger brother of Yoshi, who plays the Blue Ranger on Dino Super Charge. It’s nice to see that a proud tradition of fighting evil runs in the family. But if a who’s who of the new cast isn’t enough, take a sneak peek at a brand new villain they’ll be fighting when Ninja Steel premieres next year. We give you…Galvanax!

New episodes of Power Rangers Dino Super Charge air on Nickelodeon beginning on Saturday, August 20 at 12PM . Power Rangers Ninja Steel premieres in January 2017 on Nickelodeon.
