Beer is made with grains, therefore beer is just like breakfast. That kind of logic can get you into trouble and also you might want to consult a doctor. However, if you love breakfast and you love beer, you’re in luck because cereal beer is the new trend sweeping the food world.

Creating wacky flavored beer is nothing new, but lately it seems that breweries are pushing the boundaries between morning sustenance and well, beer sustenance. The San Francisco-based 21st Amendment brewery has taken it to a new level by creating a unique beer that tastes like everyone’s favorite breakfast decadence: Pop-Tarts.

Toaster Pastry is the new Pop-Tart-flavored Indian red ale that 21st Amendment brewery is crafting for the opening party of their new San Leandro facility. Prior to the brewery moving in, the factory once housed Kellogg’s, well known for making all those sweet, familiar breakfast treats. Since the factory churned out Frosted Flakes and Pop-Tarts, a drinkable homage seemed like the perfect fit.

Pop-Tart fans will delight in the fact that the new toaster pastry-flavored beer will be sold in 21st Amendment’s new 19.2 oz cans and contain 7.6% alcohol by volume.

It seems as if the want for cereal flavored beer is on the rise, as General Mills and Fulton Beer debuted a Wheaties-flavored beer last month and Black Bottle Brewery is bringing back Count Chocula beer. Black Bottle is the same company that made beer from Honey Bunches of Oats, Golden Grahams and Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

What this all means is now you can pair your Pop-Tart cereal with a Pop-Tart beer to start off your morning. Again, consult a doctor. Seriously. I’m worried about you.
