Pickstarter: 24 Hours Left To Support Harmonix’s AMPLITUDE

With less than 24 hours to go, Harmonix’s Amplitude Kickstarter project is just shy $35,000 of its $775,000 goal (as of this writing).

For those who aren’t familiar with Amplitude, it’s a cult classic PlayStation 2 title that combined the action and rhythm genres. It helped to define the era of music games back before Harmonix released the party favorites Rock Band and Dance Central, and they’re looking to bring back a bit of the past fans have been clamoring for.

If you need a quick refresher, take a look at the Kickstarter video below:

While a bit of development has already been in the works, if the Kickstarter succeeds, many of the developers who helped create the original Amplitude will get to once again work on a title that they’re eager to complete. Of course with your help, they can incorporate not only a faithful Amplitude experience, but they’ll have a chance to incorporate some of the crazy ideas the community has contributed.

The game will ship only to Sony platforms (PlayStation 3 and 4) with a stretch goal to try to port it over to the PS Vita. We can also expect some stellar original compositions, and if there are a few extra bucks, they may pursue some licensed tracks from popular artists.

Depending on how much you support the project, you’ll get your name in the credits, a copy of the game, exclusive in-game items, real-life swag and more.

You can check out full details and support the endeavor on the Amplitude Kickstarter page.
