Perfect Mashup of DINOSAURS and Notorious B.I.G. Is Perfect

You all remember Dinosaurs, right? If you’re anything like me, you definitely remember that the series existed, but maybe can’t recall a single plot line from the show. I retained and remember the “Not the mama!” and “I’m the baby! Gotta love me!” catchphrases from the appropriately-titled character Baby, but story-wise I’m coming up empty. However, this mashup of Notorious B.I.G.’s “Hypnotize” and assorted clips from the series is not dependent on past knowledge for present enjoyment. It’s just a fantastic hybrid of awesomeness that you never knew you needed to see before now.

Impending pun warning: “I’m the Biggie! Gotta love me!” (That one’s for fellow contributor Blake.)

Major, major kudos to Benjamin Roberts who edited this piece together. It’s amazing how much footage of an animatronic puppet dinosaur syncs up perfectly to Biggie’s flow. I’m always a fan of Biggie mashups, whether they’re mixed with other audio (including, yes, the Miley-fied “Party & Bullshit In The USA”) or an untampered track set to some awesome video magic. It’s fun! Until I fell down the inevitable nostalgia wormhole that seeing Dinosaurs again inevitably led to, I had completely forgotten–though it makes perfect sense–that the Jim Henson Company was the production powerhouse behind the Sinclair family. Leave it to them to be unwittingly responsible for such great hip-hop choreography.

Side note, let’s all take a minute to appreciate that Lucille Bluth herself is the voice of Fran, the Dinosaurs matriarch. Jessica Walter isn’t just a hilarious actress but is also a real gift to voice-over work, as she voices a very different kind of mother in Malory Archer on FX’s Archer. I actually used to own the Fran Sinclair action figure along with the whole Dinosaurs brood. What I wouldn’t do for the existence of a Malory Archer action figure, complete with tiny a whiskey tumbler set. I’ll never let that dream … go extinct! (Have mercy on me.)

The one plot line I remember involved smoking “giggle sticks” and a PSA at the end.
