PENNY DREADFUL Teases Season Two In New Video

Penny Dreadful was easily my personal favorite horror series of 2014. While Bryan Fuller’s Hannibal was, of course, completely brilliant, there was something about Penny for me that seemed to transcend all the other horror offerings currently on television. This came as a surprise to even me as I was initially not interested in the series, but after I went along for the ride, not only was I completely satisfied but I was counting down the days until the show returned.

We got a first look at season two by way of a still photograph that came earlier this year. Now, we have been treated to a short teaser that addresses Vanessa Ives’ gifts and wrestles with the idea that the things that make us unique can be both a blessing and a curse. Without giving away season one and treading into spoiler territory, the freshman season of the hit Showtime series ended with Ives facing a particular question, and, from the brief images that we’re seeing below, it looks as though she has started to answer it.

The new teaser seems to paint a dark picture for the upcoming second season. While the trailer for season one was filled with sex and a few scary images, the quick season two tease seems to paint a more solemn, horrific picture. There is also no sign of any characters aside from our main players, so there is much to be learned about the season two “big bad” who we have allegedly already met and all of the lose ends that were left at the end of the season one finale.

Yes, especially after you finally see Josh Hartnett as a werewolf.  I agree with @Justin

Penny Dreadful, to me, is what The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen should have been.
