Check Out the PENNY DREADFUL Comic’s Beautiful Premiere Covers

This May, the much loved horror mashup Penny Dreadful returns to Showtime for its third season. Starring Eva Green, Josh Hartnett, and Timothy Dalton amongst a cast of incredible performers portraying classic literary monsters, Titan Comics recently announced that they will be expanding the Penny Dreadful universe with a comic book series also due this May. The books will follow the cursed crew on their adventures within the universe of the Gothic horror show, and my fingers are crossed that fans get an opportunity to travel not only all over the world but perhaps into the past. Maybe even finally exploring the backstory of Sir Malcom while he was in Africa?

Today, we’re treated to the first looks at all five covers for issue #1, which hit the web care of Entertainment Weekly—and they sure are pretty. Titan has produced comic versions of beloved television shows before including The Blacklist, Doctor Who, and Heroes. The Penny Dreadful series will be penned by Krysty Wilson-Cairns and Andrew Hindraker who also write for the television series while art will be provided by Louie De Martinis of Heavy Metal fame.

What stories do you hope are in store for this batch of books? Do you want more action from Lily and Dorian? Perhaps you’re curious about Ethan Chandler’s long lost American family? We know very little about the troubled Victor Frankenstein, would you like to gain some insight into him? Tell us in the comments!
