The other day we learned that in preparation for the upcoming limit-series event, Agent Carter, Hayley Atwell will be reprising her famed Captain America role for the season two premiere of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. Since the period-drama is meant to show the early days of S.H.I.E.L.D., it makes sense that the famed agentâs history would somehow tie into Coulsonâs present as he tries to rebuild the spy-organization from the ground up. Now, with only weeks to go before the premiere, TV Guide has unveiled the first look of Atwell in the season premiere, and sheâs not alone:

Yup, your eyes do not deceive you, those are indeed some Howling Commando members (Jim Morita and Dum Dum Dugan to be exact) fighting alongside Carter in the shot. Itâs currently unknown if the duo (along with the rest of the commandos) will be appearing in the new miniseries, but we have a feeling this wonât be the last time weâll be seeing them (you donât hire a man like Neal McDonough for just a single guest spot). Either way, itâs exciting to know theyâll be popping up in the S.H.I.E.L.D. premiere as well.
So far, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter are shaping up to be something really special for audiences this fall. As we wait patiently for things like Daredevil, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man, these series will be a hefty dose of Marvel Cinematic Universe to tide us over until mid-2015.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premieres September 23Â at 9/8c on ABC.

I was watching Neal McDonough on “Suits” hoping that he would then go straight onto “Agent Carter”. Even if he doesn’t, this appearance is very cool!
I am totally down wid this! If it wasn’t for Carter and co AoS wouldn’t be here today so i’m keen to delve into the SRS and it’s humble beginnings! It tied in well with CATWS so I have complete faith in these guys to do something awesome!
I’m still not really sure what the need/want for this is. But with the success of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and how neatly it was tied in with Captain America: Winter Soldier I’m berry hopeful that Marvel will do something great with this!
