Paul Rudd is All of Us in The Newest CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Clip

What would you do if you met Captain America?

It’s a question that many of us, myself included, have pondered. Most of us would like to think that we’d keep our composure. You know, give Cap a firm handshake, thank him for his service, and let him know that we appreciate him fighting off all manner of menaces like Ultron and the Red Skull.

But let’s be honest. More likely than not, we’d fan out so hard that our palms would go instantly clammy, our vision would blur, and we’d basically black out, waking up hours later with only a vague recollection of Steve Rogers’ baby blues and rippling muscles.

And that’s pretty much exactly what happens in this new Captain America: Civil War clip, which features Ant-Man, a.k.a. Scott Lang, meeting Captain America for the first time. Having been unceremoniously kidnapped by Hawkeye, Lang stumbles out of an unmarked white van, finding himself face to face with Team Cap — specifically Captain America, the Falcon, Scarlet Witch, and Hawkeye. After asking about what time zone he’s in, Lang immediately begins geeking out over Cap, expressing his gratitude for being recruited for the super-team in the most eloquent way he knows how:

“Thinks for thanking of me,” Lang says after shaking Cap’s hand for an uncomfortably long time.

Come on, guys, like you wouldn’t say the exact same thing in that situation.

That isn’t the only cute moment in the minute-long clip. It also marks the first time that Ant-Man and Falcon see each other again after the ferocious fight at the Avengers HQ in Ant-Man:

“Look, about what happened last time…” Lang tries to explain to Falcon.

“It was a great audition, but it’ll never happen again,” Falcon shoots back, partly as a warning.

Fortunately, bygones will be bygones because there’s a much greater threat to face. Something to do with “psycho assassins” that will take the team “outside the law on this one.” Little do they know, that going outside the law will place them directly in opposition of their former friends and colleagues on Team Iron Man.

Captain America: Civil War opens on May 6, 2016.
