Paul Rudd Continues His CONAN Tradition with an Exclusive ANT-MAN Clip

Paul Rudd is at it again. For the past, lets say, forever, Paul Rudd has been visiting Conan O’Brien’s show and has never shown a clip of the movies he’s there to promote. Each time, Rudd sets up the clips to Conan with complete sincerity but when they throw to it, the same clip from the 1988 E.T. rip-off Mac and Me plays. Showing the clip from what can only be classified as equal parts nightmare fuel and the worst McDonald’s commercial masquerading as a movie has become a truly endearing part of Paul Rudd’s visits to the show.

Rudd has been in many big-budget movies in the past but for his starring role as the titular superhero Ant-Man, the stakes are understandably a bit higher. So it’s no surprise that most, including Conan O’Brien, thought that this visit to promote the Marvel/Disney film would finally reign in the Rudd shenanigans and he’d be forced to show an actual clip. Well, for the first time ever, Rudd did set up the clip he was supposed to and it played just as it should…until it was revealed that the tradition continues!

This time, we were all truly #RuddRolled (as some have come to call it) when the Ant-Man clip was cut beautifully with the same old Mac and Me footage we’ve seen all too many times (or not enough?) when Paul visits Conan. The clip game bar has been raised and we can only assume this will now be the new shtick for Rudd’s movies. It breathes new life into the amazing joke he’s been playing for years and we can only imagine the comedic opportunities this new format of RuddRolling presents.

Excited about Ant-Man? Ever see all of Mac and Me? Really? Why would you do that to yourself? Let us know in the comments below!
