The studio which brought you Coraline, Laika (the studio owned by Nike boss Phil Knight), has another one coming, it’s called ParaNorman, and that’s the new trailer for it, courtesy of the folks at MSN UK. (Unlike the previously-released teaser, there’s dialogue in this one) Norman’s a kid who speaks to the dead and has to save his town from zombies, ghosts, and other assorted complications. Voice actors include John Goodman, Jeff Garlin, Bernard Hill, Anna Kendrick, Family Guy‘s Alex Borstein, Elaine Stritch, Leslie Mann and Christopher Mintz-Plasse for that Apatow flavor, Tempestt Bledsoe for the Cosby touch, and Casey Affleck. Disaffected outcast kid saves the day… yeah, been done, but in the right hands, it could be a lot of fun. And, well, the studio made Coraline, and there are zombies. Those are good signs.
The movie gets released, if schedules don’t change, on August 17th of next year in the U.S. and September 14th of next year in the U.K.
