In just under two weeks, Legendary Pictures and Universal are uncancelling the apocalypse with Pacific Rim: Uprising. This time, the kaiju are bigger than before and there’s plenty of Jaeger-on-Jaeger action for the giant robot fans out there. Is there any way this film could be even more epic? Turns out that there is. Brick Force Studios has unleashed a shot-for-shot remake of the Pacific Rim: Uprising trailer which was made with LEGO bricks and stop-motion animation.
We came across this video via io9, and it is an impressively faithful recreation of the trailer that inspired it. According to Brick Forces Studios, it took seven weeks to create this video, but it was well worth the time and effort. The LEGO Jaegers and kaiju look fantastic, and it only makes us want large construction sets for the heroic giant robots and monsters. Pacific Rim: Uprising really lends itself well to the LEGO style, and these creations would be truly amazing toys.
Brick Force Studios also released a comparison video featuring the original trailer and its LEGO remake. It also has a very amusing glimpse of John Boyega‘s Jake Pentecost side-by-side with his LEGO counterpart.
Pacific Rim: Uprising hits theaters on Friday, March 23. After it comes out, we’re hoping to see more LEGO recreations of the film’s signature battles!
