Dolla dolla bills, ya’ll! Blizzard just announced the first ever Heroes of the Storm worldwide tournament, set to conclude when the grand finals take place at BlizzCon this November. With $1 million in cash and prizes will be given out to the most formidable Heroes of the Storm teams, and the last team standing earning themselves a $200,000 pay check with which to ride off into the sunset, players are set to experience not too shabby a pay day, eh?
Regional competition for America, Latin America, Europe, Korea, China, Taiwan, South Asia, Australia, and New Zealand will commence later this month. Only eight teams from the total pool of competitors will move on to the final showdown in Anaheim later this year, where that sweet, sweet cash will be theirs for the taking. Get ready, future champions.
The eSports support for Heroes of the Storm has been immensely strong up to now, which is astounding when you consider that the game hasn’t officially launched yet. With the success of the Heroes of the Dorm event–which was the first ever televised collegiate eSports event–it only makes since that Blizzard has decided to cranks things up a notch at their annual community event.
You can start your journey to Heroes of the Storm supremacy when the game goes into open beta next Tuesday, or when it officially releases on June 2. Does this sound like the competition for you? Do you plan on attending BlizzCon regardless? Let us know in the comments below.
