The New OUTLANDER Teaser Wants to Change the Future

Take care, dear Sassenachs, because this post contains spoilers for the first and second seasons of Starz’s Outlander series.

If you’re a fan of Diana Gabaldon’s epic fantasy series-turned-really-fantastic-TV-show Outlander, no doubt your breath has been baited for many a month, awaiting word on season two. Well, we’re happy to say that time is over and the trailer is here and this time, we’re heading to Paris, y’all! To, y’know, try and change the future, because that always goes so well for people. Plus there’s even a seeming update on that baby business from the finale of season one. But don’t just take our word for it, watch the clip below (and then meet us underneath to freak out about it).

OK, OK, OK, so! First thing’s first: look at these two happy lovebirds: she’s a time-traveler, he’s a noble warrior lad on the lam. What could possibly go wrong? Well, plenty, duh. For one thing, this season focuses primarily on Claire and Jamie’s plan to change the course of history and save the future of Scotland and its clan culture. Kiiiiiind of a tall order, no? Which is exactly why the duo must travel to France, to make sure Bonnie Prince Charles Stuart doesn’t get the money he needs from King Louis XV to fund the ill-fated Jacobite Rising that ultimately ends Highland culture. (I mean, in a nutshell. History does have nuance, folks.)

Oh and yes, Claire is still pregnant, which is sure to be a sticky widget. I mean, babies are hard at any time, but something tells us the 1700s was way, way harder than the 1940s.

If that’s not enough to sate your cravings for all things historical time-travel, why not watch our interviews with the cast and creators from SDCC?

What do you think of the new Outlander clip? Let us know in the comments below!
