This morning, the first trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story debuted online and it was so freakin’ awesome, we still haven’t recovered. There were a ton of details to unpack in that footage, which means that it’s time for another mega trailer breakdown on today’s Nerdist News!
Nerdist News host and Bothan spy Jessica Chobot has all of the available intel on Rogue One in this epic installment. She also has a lot to say about Felicity Jones’Â Jyn Erso, the leading lady of Rogue One who has already captured our collective imaginations. Hopefully Jyn makes it out of this story alive so she can reappear somewhere else in the Star Wars universe. And we’d totally be on board with Jyn coming back for Rogue Two if we could finally see some Bothans stealing the plans of the second Death Star.
Want more to geek out about? How about IP Man star Donnie Yen facing off against Imperial stormtroopers in front of a downed X-Wing? Or the return of Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma? (Which: Mon FREAKIN’ Mothma!!!!) Even the music for Rogue One has us pumped to hear what composer Alexandre Desplat is going to bring to the table.
We can’t wait to see more from Rogue One! But knowing Disney and Lucasfilm, there will be plenty of trailers between now and Rogue One‘s release on December 16.
