ORPHAN BLACK’s Cast Discuss the Mysteries of Season 4

Big character shifts, unexpected moments, shocking reveals, a return to the series’ original questions, and major catastrophes: at first blush, Orphan Black‘s fourth season sounds like a walloper. And after you watch the premiere episode this Thursday, April 14, we think you’ll agree—this is a season with zero chill and a lot of twists and turns that directly relate to the original mystery that had us fall so hard for the series way back in 2013.

“There are big character shifts,” Tatiana Maslany (a.k.a. every female clone ever) explained to us while on the BBC America series’ Toronto set—particularly for Sarah and Cosima. “For Sarah, she’s on her back foot a lot,” co-creator John Fawcett explained in the interview above. And all of the clones will be scrambling to try and stay alive while also putting the puzzle pieces together.

Are you scared for our precious sestras yet? Because you should be, according to Jordan Gavaris (a.k.a. Felix), who says, “it’s really scary,” going so far as to liken certain aspects to “a horror film.”

Driving forces will change for everyone this season, but even better than that is, perhaps, the revelations behind characters whose original machinations we may not have previously understood—like with Mrs. S and her mother Kendall, both of whom have some skeletons in their closets.

“This is a season of new beginnings,” Kevin Hanchard explained, and don’t think for a second that Detective Art Bell is going to sit on the sidelines at all this season. Nor will the Castor boys. In fact, we’ll meet a brand new one—unlike any you’ve ever seen before, posited Ari Millen (a.k.a. the face of Project Castor).

Needless to say we’re losing our GOURDS for everyone else to know what’s happening on Orphan Black this season. But what about you all? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned to Nerdist for even MORE videos from the set of Orphan Black.

For instance, if you want to get majorly spoiled* on season four, watch this one!
