We are almost positive the world was not clamoring for a sexy song about trick-or-treating, but now that we have one we are surprisingly okay with it. In truth, there is nothing quite as sweet as free candy on Halloween. Though, if we are being honest, we didn’t expect such a song to come from One Direction‘s Niall Horan and The Late Late Show‘s James Corden.
Cycling through a number of costumes, Corden and Horan sang “Candy,” an ode to their love for the many types of sugary goodness and the many ways they’d like to enjoy them. So where does the sexiness come in? Well, the song is a parody of “Pony” by Ginuwine.
Doing a trick-or-treating parody song is becoming a yearly tradition for Corden. Last year he and comedian Billy Eichner did a spoof of Adele’s “Hello,” which was about two grown men that had drifted apart from their yearly tradition of going out together on Halloween night dressed like Chewbacca and Han Solo. This video’s extra special attention to the moms’ dispensing of the Halloween candy might have you thinking it was a new Andy Samberg and Justin Timberlake Digital Short.
As someone who was tasked with putting together a Halloween party playlist this year, I can tell you the number of sexy spooky songs out there is sparse. I didn’t think I needed a raunchy number about trick-or-treating, but now that I have it I’m putting it on the list.
But it’s an adult party. Probably best not to use this at a kid’s Halloween party.
