Olaf may not be headed to ABC’s Once Upon a Time, but two more characters from Frozen are joining Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff in Storybrooke: Prince Hans and Pabbie the Troll King. Bringing in the smarmy villain from the animated film makes sense, and I have a hunch Elizabeth Mitchell’s character has some kind of connection to him. As far as the Troll King, I didn’t see that one coming.
Prince Hans will be played by Tyler Jacob Moore (Shameless), and yes, he’s still a villain. The last time we saw him in the animated film, he was imprisoned on a ship and on his way home to the Southern Isles. I don’t get the impression Elsa is the forgiving sort, so it will be interesting to learn what happened to him. Hans will first appear in the third episode of the season and will be recurring.
Pabbie the Troll King will be a CG character, and John Rhys-Davies will be voicing him. He’ll have a similar role to what we saw in Frozen. He’ll be “gentle, wise and the source of unexpected insight.” He’s slated to appear in one episode as of right now.

A clip at Comic-Con showed Anna and Elsa in Arendelle, and we learned that Anna’s getting married. Maybe we’ll see her and Kristoff’s wedding and Pabbie will be in attendance? If so, does that mean other CG trolls? Prince Hans could be tied into that as well, or he could come to Storybrooke and serve as Elsa’s antagonist. However the Frozen plot plays out, showrunners Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz confirmed at Comic-Con that the storyline will be like Neverland in that it will not continue past a single season.
How do you think Hans and Pabbie will figure into the upcoming season?

Trolls were already introduced to OUAT in the first season, iirc. I wonder how the writers will explain that difference in appearance and personality assuming they’re gonna follow the movie’s version of trolls.
Different races of trolls maybe? All humans look and act different.
