ONCE UPON A TIME Announces the Return of a Familiar Face and Casting of Another LOST Alum

The season four premiere of Once Upon a Time sounds like it will have plenty of excitement to hook viewers back into the fairy tale series. Besides Introduction 2.0 for Elsa – we met the character in the season three finale but didn’t see Georgina Haig in the role – TV Guide reports the premiere will feature Anna (Elizabeth Lail), Kristoff (Scott Michael Foster), another potential villain, and the return of a familiar face. Whew.

While I’m still hoping Sheriff Graham will be resurrected somehow, I’m also happy to learn that Giancarlo Esposito will finally reprise his role as the Magic Mirror a/k/a Sidney Glass. The last time we heard anything from the reporter was early on in season three, but we haven’t seen his face since the first season. He was closely allied with Regina and willing to do sneaky and unethical things to stay on her good side; I’m looking forward to seeing if his temperament will change since Regina is less evil these days.

Lost, Elizabeth Mitchell as Juliet Burke

Maybe Glass will work with Regina to stand against Elsa and another potential threat. Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost) is joining the cast in a “possibly malevolent” role that ties to Frozen‘s Anna and Elsa, and her character has connections to Arendelle and Storybrooke. We didn’t get to know many other people in Arendelle in the animated film, but what if this woman is the relation of the Duke of Weselton or a member of Prince Hans’ family? Regardless of who she is, perhaps her actions towards Elsa trigger the Queen’s icy powers in Storybrooke?

Once Upon a Time has a knack for connecting everyone’s history, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Mitchell’s character is both Kristoff’s mother and Tinker Bell’s cousin or something similar. Who do you think Mitchell will be playing? Share your theories in the comments.

  1. NY says:

I was wondering when Elizabeth Mitchell would be making an appearance on OUAT, seeing as how the creators of this show are same as Lost (another great show with crazy intertwining stories and timelines). But I wasn’t sure when or how it would happen since she was co-starring in Revolution, as was Giancarlo Esposito. With the news of Revolution not being renewed, I’m glad to see Mitchell and Esposito will be reunited with their old “family”.

I read all the comments hereAnd I agree with most of them I’m just really excited for the show to be back on again This is my all time favorite show and I am a die hard once!!!!

  3. Superty says:

Mulan was a legend not a real person.     Pocahontasis a real person.    And hunchback is set in France

  4. lio says:

    long live elissa

  5. AdeleDazeem says:

The Wicked Witch, and then Elsa. I hope Idina Menzel watches this show.

  6. Eric says:

Elizabeth Mitchell – Should be the Ice Queen She has the look at could be who is really coming to storybook.   Elsa (Sheriff Graham) is the flash back version from the movie – Like Anakin Skywalker & Darth Vader.  Same person but of different times of his life.

  7. gigi says:

not amazed about the frozen part… there are enough cool other fary tales and stories ( Pocahontas, Aladdin, The Hunchback of Notre Dame etc.)

    • bippity says:

Pocahontas and Hunchback are both set in america, not the enchanted forest (though they didn’t seem to have a problem with Mulan who was a REAL PERSON) and Aladdin was done in the spin off series.

  8. maks says:

    it’s periwinkle :O tinkerbell’s sister

  9. If they must resurrect someone, though nobody can bring the dead back but they made Emma change the course of history so it indeed make sense, I sincerly hope that they bring back someone that it is useful to the story as much as I liked Grahm is purpose is fulfilled I would like to see Cora back with her heart in place this would be awesome!!! As far as Elsa history goes I think that the best and only course of action they can make is that Elizabeth Mitchell’ character did something to Anna that triggered Elsa’s rage, there is nothing else that would make Elsa mad since they put the storyline after the Great Thaw hence Elsa possess full control over her powers…we will see….

  10. C. Keely says:

Maybe the gnome that is frozen in the mayor’s garden should be brought back and made into a character. Good or evil.

  11. Amanda says:

I’m a die hard Oncer and can’t wait for the new season and who Robin Hood picks out of Regina and Marion… i have a very strong feeling it will be Regina… and can’t wait to see what happens between hook and Emma… Just all in all will be an amazing season…

  12. Shawn says:

If Olaf doesn’t get a tie in I will be upset. At least get henry a white puppy and call it olaf or something. If you have something better up your sleeve then by all means.

  13. gelibeens says:

If Emma brought Marian back, what if Regina will revenge and bring Graham back, too? Evil time again. hehe

  14. Jess says:

I don’t think Tinkerbell has any cousins or family… Fairies are born when babies have their first laugh, right? So, wishful thinking on that one.

    • stephanie says:

I watched that today in tinkerbells movie on disney chanel channel hahaha

    • CGM says:

Tinker bell has a Twin Sister who was separated from her and instead of becoming a normal fairy in pixie hallow she was a winter fairy on the frosted side of the pixie land

    • NeenieChick says:

And a baby was just born in Storybrooke, so why not?

  15. Skye says:

    Ugh. I hate Elizabeth Mitchell.

  16. robin says:

I want to see Peter Pan again!

  17. Nat says:

i really wanted it not to be totally Frozen, i wish it would intertwine with Chronicles of narnia and that Elsa is Jadis or something..it would be so cooool

  18. Jennifer says:

I honestly just can’t wait for the show to come back on. I am definitely I die hard fan. Have not missed one episode since the show started. I also like the fact that everyone is connected in someway or another.

  19. nic says:

Hee hee – love the bit about everyone being related

  20. Anthony says:

Am I the only one to notice these two are available because Revolution got canceled?

    • duckgirl says:

Nope, you’re not alone in that. I loved Revolution and was very saddened by its cancellation.

    • Amanda says:

No, it has completely smashed any hopes I had that Revolution would be picked up by another network.

  21. Linda says:

i think she” play the good witch sister

  22. As silly as it sounds, but seeing as the LOST writer/producer alums can’t seem to get away from the show, I think we’ll see the ‘Island’ introduced as a new realm and Hurley and Ben reprise their roles as well. Why not….
