Old Han Solo and Chewbacca Get Scarily Lifelike Hot Toys

Were I a very wealthy person, I would travel the world, give to charity… and buy lots and lots of Hot Toys action figures. For those of you out there unaware, Hot Toys is a Hong Kong based production company that specializes in premium sixth scale collectible figures featuring actual likenesses of film based characters. In the past, figures have included everything from the Avengers to The Dark Knight and, of course, Star Wars. Unlike some toys based on real actors, the sculpts on some Hot Toys figures are so eerily accurate, a photo of one of them can actually pass for an actual picture of the actor sometimes upon quick glance. Basically, they are the best action figures made by anyone, anywhere.

Now Hot Toys has revealed their latest offerings, and these should be enough to get almost any Star Wars fan foaming at the mouth in excitement. Coming soon are Han Solo and Chewbacca, as they both appeared in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. According to the official description, “the highly-accurate Han Solo collectible figure is specially crafted based on the image of Harrison Ford as Han Solo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and features a newly developed head sculpt and hands, a specially tailored outfit and winter gear, all-new blaster pistol, and a specially designed figure stand”.

But Han Solo is rarely seen without his Chewie, and this is no exception. This latest Chewbacca figure is described as having “a new face sculpt with articulated jaw, newly developed multiple layers of fabric hair with various shades of brown throughout the whole body capturing Chewbacca’s unique appearance, all-new bowcaster and bandolier bag, and a specially designed figure stand.” In addition, this collectible set will include 3 thermal detonators, a remote detonator, and 2 Starkiller Base-themed bases attachable to Han Solo and Chewbacca’s hexagonal figure stands as bonus accessories.

So how much will this pair set you back? Right now, you can pre-order them at Sideshow Toys’ website for $558.99. Sure, that’s a lot of dough, but check out the pictures of the figures in our gallery below, and tell me they’re not worth every penny.

What do you think of the latest stunnng action figures from Hot Toys? And who would you like to see next? Leave us your thoughts in the comments.
