Go! Watch!
Oh, Right, Jonah Ray’s on Conan Thursday Night. Watch Him!
right this minute!”
Hey, so, I didn’t know this until Jonah told me just a few minutes ago, and I’m on a train somewhere in the wilds of New Jersey (okay, I think we’re in Elizabeth or Linden, so “wild” might mean something other than… wait, yes, we’re in Elizabeth on our way to… oh, forget it). But if you’re near a TV and it’s still Thursday night, get thee to the remote pronto and set yourself down for some fine televisuals at 11p Eastern as our very own Jonah Ray performs his comedic entertainments on Conan O’Brien’s chat show Conan on the TBS television network. Yes, Jonah’s on along with Chris Hemsworth and Malin Akerman, so, basically, he’s there to be eye candy. But he is an amusing fellow who will make you laugh, so watch the program and when Jonah comes on, point at the set and say, “I know that guy! He’s on the Nerdist Podcast! Also, he has a record I have purchased/wish to purchase/shall purchase
@ e-mc I agree, it felt like he just jumped into it.
but I just wanted to say that I LOVED it, now I’m on my way to buy Jonah’s new album.
@josh You’re right about Matt Mira. He’d probably point out that penguins ain’t mammals, either. Sheesh!
Good set.
I thought Jonah kind of faded in and out of confident though and with that the effectiveness of his jokes waxed and waned too.
Great reception by the audience just walking out – and he sort of just rushed into I’m going to tell you jokes now mode a a few seconds too quickly. A small thing with timing- but I think if he took just a breather to get more comfortable with the audience and have a rapport they would have adjusted better to his style- better energy.
He had a fair amount of stage time to do that.
But overall- great job.
Great set!
Just finished the episode. Every time Jonah mentioned “his friend,” I had an image of Matt Mira. Matt would point out penguin tattoo issues.
My friend is the cue card guy on Conan – He totally wrote that (andyeahforjonah!)
Super excited to see Jonah Ray on Conan tonight! On behalf of all the Nerdist podcast fans, congratulations, Jonah! We all know you’ll do a great job! 🙂
