BLACK MIRROR’s New Trailer is Killing Us Right Now

OK, confession time: we’ve been having a hard time recently with the state of the world. Bees are officially going extinct, Elon Musk thinks we’re a simulation, literal clowns terrorizing the country—it’s a weird time to be a human that’s alive. It honestly feels like we are becoming our TV shows with every passing day, so it brings me nothing but stress and dread to present to you the trailer for the upcoming Netflix season of one of the best new shows of our time, Black Mirror.

The Charlie Brooker series flipped our world upside-down when it made its way from British TV to international streaming services in 2014, and when we heard we were getting 12 new episodes—6 of which premiere this month—we were filled with an initial bolt of glee. That is, until we realized we were probably about to witness what’s next for our messed-up world: after all, this is the show that basically predicted some pretty nutty things regarding a pig and the prime minister.

So, naturally, we’re dreading and anticipating this season in equal, albeit confusing, measure. Is there a word for that? We have until October 21 to figure it out.

The third season features a seriously insanely talented cast, including Bryce Dallas Howard, Alice Eve, James Norton, Cherry Jones,  Wyatt Russell, Alex Lawther, Jerome Flynn, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Mackenzie Davis, Michael Kelly, Malachi Kirby, Kelly McDonald, Faye Marsay, and more. Joe Wright (Atonement), Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane), James Watkins (The Woman in Black), Owen Harris, Jacob Verbruggen (London Spy) and James Hawes directed the episodes, with Rashida Jones and Michael Schur serving as writers on “Nosedive.”
