Now You Can Own a Piece of Disney History

At this year’s D23 Expo, Disney fans got an inside look into the Walt Disney Archives. The Archives house countless movie props and costumes, Walt Disney’s personal correspondence and notes, as well as theme park artifacts and merchandise. One of the standouts of the collection is the millions of archival photographs that showcase Disney’s impressive history. Comprised largely of original negatives, there are an estimated 4 million photos of Disney’s rich history that rarely leave their protective cold storage facilities.

Now, on December 5, 2015 which would have been Walt Disney’s 114th birthday, Disney will launch Photographs from the Walt Disney Archives, a new online print-on-demand photo service. Disney fans will be able to own images from from The Walt Disney Company’s history, including classic images of Walt Disney himself.

The memorable photo of Walt in 1932, surrounded by some of the very first plush Mickey Mouse dolls, is one of the classic Walt Disney photos. Disney fans will be quick to point out the one rogue doll in the lower right corner that just doesn’t look quite right.

Other iconic Disney historical photos are one of Sleeping Beauty Castle on Disneyland’s opening day in 1955 and the shot of Walt and company with his innovative multiplane camera while filming 1951’s Alice in Wonderland. These photos and many more will be available for purchase as photos and on canvas in varying sizes.

This is a chance for Disney fans to own a part of Disney history and enjoy it with their own families for generations to come. Photographs from the Walt Disney Archives are available at DisneyPhotoArchives.com
