Now We Know What Happened to Lando After RETURN OF THE JEDI

When Star Wars: The Force Awakens brought us back to a galaxy far, far away, there was at least one familiar face who didn’t make a comeback. Billy Dee WilliamsLando Calrissian wasn’t among General Leia’s Resistance, even though we always hoped he would be. It’s not as if Williams is unwilling to reprise his role, since he’s already done so for Star Wars Rebels. But in the new continuity, the question remains: where’s Lando? Fortunately, today’s Nerdist News has some of the early answers!

Join host and the biggest Lobot fan in the universe, Jessica Chobot, as she shares the Lando-centric details that were found in an excerpt from Chuck Wendig‘s new novel, Star Wars Aftermath: Empire’s End. Within these first pages, Lando returns to Cloud City for the first time since The Empire Strikes Back, when he was forced out of power after ultimately siding with the Rebellion. It turns out that being a hero of the Rebellion and one of the men who brought down the second Death Star doesn’t mean that the New Republic gave Lando much help in reclaiming his old home. Now, Cloud City is badly in need of repairs and there may even still be Imperial forces waiting to make Lando’s life difficult.

On the upside, Lando is once again hanging out with his right-hand man, Lobot, and he’s already planning to give Han and Leia a gift for their newborn son, Ben. Surely that gift can’t be what sent Ben down the path towards the Dark Side? Yeah, probably not. But that won’t stop us from speculating!

What do you think about Lando’s post Return of the Jedi activities? And do you want to see him return in the sequel trilogy? Let’s discuss in the comment section below!
