When you think about it, there seems to be a Con for everything these days. While they sometimes blur into one, big vendor/cosplay/celebrity mashup, one thing’s for sure: none of them focus on the buttery, crispy, delicious magic of cookies…until now.

Billing itself as The West Coast’s biggest baking and pastry party, LA Cookie Con is premiering its new convention this weekend and promises of hundreds of exhibitors showcasing baking products and giving away samples galore.

The idea of an entire convention overflowing with cookies is just too good. I may need Tom Hiddleston to teach me about delayed gratification. In addition to booths there will be dessert contests, workshops, pastry demos and special guest Ron Ben-Israel of Food Network’s Sweet Genius.

For those with dietary restrictions, there will be Paleo, Gluten-Free and Vegan exhibitors as well. This is LA, after all.

Now the real question: what kind of cookie cosplay will we be seeing at this event?

LA Cookie Con takes place at the Pasadena Convention Center on Sunday, January 25. Look for me there, I’ll be the one eating a cookie.
