Nickelodeon to Launch Channel Dedicated to Its ’90s Shows

It’s been far too long since we got to sing along to The Beets hit single “Killer Tofu.” I miss having Artie–The Strongest Man (shimmy) In the World, in my home. I want to watch the heroics of Powdered Toast Man so I can believe in something again. Well, if you feel the way I do I have great news: Nickelodeon is starting a new channel dedicated to its classic 90s shows.

The Splat will feature shows like Doug, Ren and Stimpy, and Rugrats. Nickelodeon announced the new network at ’90s Fest in Brooklyn, in what must have been an iconic moment for hipsters everywhere. It’s unknown when the network will launch, but they have already launched a YouTube channel and have created Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook accounts. There’s not much to the new website, but the logo definitely looks like it came right from 1990s Nickelodeon.

Recently we told you about reports that Nick executives were planning on bringing back your favorite ’90s shows, so this news isn’t a total surprise, but those reports included speculation about re-boots, re-launches, and even movies. But this? A whole channel to rediscover shows we loved but haven’t seen in almost two decades? You can’t put a value on flipping through channels only to stumble onto a Clarissa Explains it All marathon.

What shows are you most excited to have back in your life? Share them in the comments below and we can get a head start on all the nostalgia we’ll be experiencing.
